Creating Office 365 Templates
When you create a new PowerPoint presentation, you will have a choice between uploading a PowerPoint file from your computer, or selecting a file from Microsoft 365.
You cannot switch between a local PowerPoint file and a Microsoft 365 file. If you create your template in one format, and then later wish to switch to the other format, you’ll need to create a new Matik template.
- Choose the “Select from Microsoft 365” option.
- If you have not already connected your Microsoft 365 account to Matik, you will be prompted to.
- Then, select your PowerPoint file, and a new PowerPoint template will be created in Matik.
When a template is created from a Microsoft 365 file, you will be able to:
- Sync from Microsoft 365:refresh the template in Matik, automatically syncing to the latest version of the PowerPoint
- Open in PowerPoint: open the base template PowerPoint file in Microsoft 365
You will also be able to leverage all the usual template functions, like Archiving, Publishing as Library, Adding to Favorites, or Deleting.
💡Note: we do not yet support an extension for tagging templates within Microsoft 365.
Converting an uploaded PowerPoint template to a 365 PowerPoint template
As a one-time action, you convert a template based on an uploaded PowerPoint file to a 365-synced template. Doing this will:
- Upload the PowerPoint file to a specified OneDrive/SharePoint folder
- Re-sync the template to this 365-hosted PowerPoint
- Any slide conditions or loops should be maintained
Note that this conversion only goes one way, and cannot be undone.
To convert an uploaded PowerPoint template
- Open the actions menu and select “Convert to Microsoft 365”
- When prompted, select the OneDrive/SharePoint folder where you would like the file to be saved
- Once you confirm, the file will be uploaded and the template will be re-synced.
