Matik Pages [Beta]

Beta Feature: Pages are in beta. Contact your Technical Account Manager for access. Setup steps and names may change before general availability.

A Page is a template type that generates an interactive web page instead of a file. You build it with the Matik AI Agent from Dynamic Content, generate it with inputs like any other template, and share it as a link or send it through Matik Mail. Each recipient opens their own personalized Page in a browser.

  • Recipients can interact with the data. Filter a chart, switch between views, or change the assumptions in a calculator and watch every number update.
  • Pages are faster to build. The AI Agent draws charts and tables directly from your Dynamic Content. There are no chart objects to set up and no separate piece of Dynamic Content to create and tag for every number on the page.
  • One query feeds many views. A Page receives the full result table of each Dynamic Content, so it can total, group, and filter that data itself rather than needing a Dynamic Content for each cut.
  • Distribution works like any template. Share links with access controls, send personalized links through Matik Mail, or attach the Page as a PDF.

Example use cases

Use case Example Page
Interactive account one-pager A summary of an account's usage, health, and open items. The customer filters the usage chart by product, expands the open-ticket table, and switches between quarters.
ROI or pricing calculator A calculator pre-filled with a prospect's numbers. The prospect changes seats, term, or adoption rate and sees savings and payback update instantly. A button on the Page generates the matching proposal deck.
Team reporting dashboard A weekly pipeline or delivery dashboard with a filter per region or owner, regenerated each week for fresh numbers.

How Pages work

  • A Page template is built by the AI Agent. You describe what you need in chat, approve an outline, and the Agent builds the Page from Dynamic Content. There is no HTML to write or upload.
  • Generating a Page works like generating a presentation. Enter input values, Matik runs the Dynamic Content, and the result is a personalized Page hosted by Matik. Each generation appears in your Generated list with a View page button.
  • Each generated Page is a snapshot. It shows the data as of the moment it was generated. Interactive controls on the Page work on that data in the browser. To show newer data, generate a new Page or refresh the Page with the latest data (coming soon).
  • Charts and tables are drawn by the Page itself. The Page reads the rows your Dynamic Content returns and renders them.
  • Recipients open the Page in a browser. Depending on the share setting, they may need the link alone, the link plus a password, or a Matik login from your organization.

Creating a Page

Ask the AI Agent for a Page. For example: "Build a Page that summarizes an account's usage, health score, and open support tickets for a QBR" or "Turn the pricing calculator in this spreadsheet into an interactive Page."

Building a Page is a conversation with the Agent:

  1. Give the Agent what it needs. Describe the goal of the Page, who will read it, and the data you want on it. You can also point it at a reference: the presentation, document, or Mail template you are viewing, a screenshot you attach, or a website you name. When you build from an existing template, the Agent reuses that template's Dynamic Content and inputs so the Page shows the same numbers.
  2. Review the outline. The Agent proposes each section, the Dynamic Content it uses, and the chart type, with a wireframe in your brand colors. Ask for changes until it looks right.
  3. Confirm, and the Agent builds. The finished Page is saved to your template list as a normal template.

Because a Page receives the full result of each Dynamic Content, a lot of the work that would otherwise need its own Dynamic Content happens on the Page instead. Some examples of what you can ask for:

  • Calculate from the raw rows. One Dynamic Content that returns every open opportunity for an account can feed a pipeline-by-stage chart, a total pipeline KPI, a count of deals closing this quarter, and a sortable table. The Page groups and totals the rows itself. For a presentation, each of those would be a separate Dynamic Content to create, test, and tag.
  • Show content conditionally. A section can appear only when the data calls for it. For example, a "Renewal at risk" callout shows when a health score Dynamic Content returns Red, and a status pill is colored by the value it displays. Tell the Agent the rule in plain language.
  • Repeat a block for every row. One card per product, one row per open ticket, one tab per region, generated from a single Dynamic Content.
  • Format numbers and dates. Currency, percentages, and dates are formatted on the Page. For calculators, outputs use the number format of the spreadsheet cell they come from.
  • Write narrative with Insights Dynamic Content. AI-written summaries render as formatted text on the Page.

Editing a Page

Open the Page template and use the AI Agent panel to make changes. There are three ways to direct an edit:

  • Describe the change in chat. "Move the health score to the top" or "Add a filter by product line to the usage chart."
  • Select to edit. Turn on Select to edit above the preview, click an element on the Page, and write a note about it. Notes queue up and are sent to the Agent with your next message, so you can mark several elements before asking for the changes.
  • Preview with sample data. Choose input values and the preview renders the Page with real data for those inputs. Use this to check conditional sections and chart scales before anyone receives the Page. Previews do not appear in your Generated list.

Elements that use Dynamic Content are outlined in the preview. Click one to see which Dynamic Content feeds it and open that Dynamic Content directly.

Note: Editing a Page template changes future generations only. Pages that were already generated and shared are not affected.

Interactive controls

Interactive controls let a reader explore the data and model their own scenarios without coming back to you for another version.

Controls that explore the data on the Page

Filters, dropdowns, tabs, sortable columns, and expandable sections work on the data already in the Page. Changing them does not re-run any Dynamic Content, so they respond instantly and work for every recipient, including people without a Matik login. Ask the Agent for them by describing what the reader should be able to do: "Let the reader filter the usage chart by product and switch between monthly and quarterly views."

Calculator inputs

A calculator Page has inputs the reader can change, with outputs that recompute as they type. The Agent builds a calculator from one of two sources:

  • A spreadsheet Dynamic Content. Point the Agent at a Dynamic Content whose data source is a Google Sheet or Excel workbook with input cells and formula-driven output cells. Matik reads the sheet's formulas and translates them so the Page recomputes them in the browser. You do not re-enter the math. Cells with a fixed list of valid values, such as a plan or contract term, become dropdowns on the Page.
  • Formula Dynamic Content. If a template's numbers come from Formula Dynamic Content driven by template inputs, the Agent reproduces those formulas so the Page recomputes them live.

Default values come from the spreadsheet's current cell values or from the template's inputs, so the Page opens on a complete scenario rather than a blank form. The values a reader enters into a calculator can be passed into an attached template, described next.

Attaching other templates

A Page can carry a button that generates another template on demand. A pricing calculator Page might have a Generate proposal button that builds the branded proposal deck from the numbers the rep modeled. Nothing is generated until the button is clicked.

Setting up an attached template

  1. Open the Page template and go to the Templates tab in the sidebar.
  2. Click Add an attached template and choose a presentation, document, or spreadsheet template from your account.
  3. For each input on the attached template, choose how it is filled:
    • Enter when generating: the value is collected in the Page's own Generate form and fixed for that generated Page. If the Page has an input with the same name, that value is used automatically.
    • Map to Page element: the value is read from the Page at the moment the button is clicked. You can map to a calculator input, a calculator output, or a Dynamic Content value. This is how a reader's "what if" scenario flows into the deck.
  4. Click Save attachments.

The Page also needs a button for each attached template. Ask the Agent to add one ("Add a Generate proposal button that generates the Pricing Proposal Deck"), or ask for the attachment and the button together when you first build the Page. The Templates tab warns you if an attached template has no button or a button points to a template that is not attached.

Generating from an attached template

  • The attached template generates with the fixed values plus the live mapped values. The button shows Generating… until it finishes.
  • The result opens in a new tab and appears in the Generated list alongside the Page it came from. Presentations and documents include a PDF.
  • The generated file belongs to the person who clicked the button and counts toward your account's generations.

Note: Generate buttons work for people who are logged into Matik and have access to the attached template. External recipients viewing a Page through a share link cannot use them yet.

Generating a Page

Switch the Page template to Generate, fill in the inputs, and generate. The Page appears in your Generated list. From there you can:

  • View page to open it full screen.
  • Share to create a link and set who can open it (see below).
  • Generate a PDF for a static copy. The PDF captures the Page as it first loads, without interactive controls.
  • Regenerate to run it again with the same inputs for fresh data.

Pages support bulk generation, so you can produce one Page per account from a list of inputs. The most common way to do this is through Matik Mail, which generates a Page for each recipient and links to it from their email.

Sharing a Page

Click Share on a generated Page to create its link and choose who can open it. The owner of the generated Page, or anyone with Edit access to it, can change the setting at any time. Changes take effect immediately for anyone who opens the link afterward.

Setting Who can open the link What the recipient sees
Anyone with the link Anyone who has the URL. No login. The Page opens directly.
Password protected Anyone with the URL and the password you set. No login. A password prompt, then the Page.
My organization People logged into Matik in your organization. A Matik login, then the Page.
Only me You. Others see a message that the share could not be opened.
  • Share links start with share.matik.io and do not expire. Turning off sharing stops the link working.
  • Each generated Page has one share link. Changing the setting keeps the same link.
  • Passwords are not stored in readable form. Note the password when you set it. Matik cannot show it to you later.
  • Recipients see the data as of generation. To send updated numbers, generate a new Page and share the new link.

Sending Pages through Matik Mail

Use Matik Mail to distribute Pages at scale. When a Mail template links to a Page, the send generates one Page for each value of the bulk input and links to it from that value's email. For example, a send bulked on &:company generates one Page per company. If the recipients Dynamic Content returns two contacts for the same company, both receive the same email with the same Page link.

Linking to a Page from an email

In the visual builder, the Button, Image, and Text modules can link to a Page. Set Link to to Matik Template, choose the Page template, then choose Who can view this Page?:

Option Behavior
Anyone with the link The recipient opens the Page directly. This is the default.
Password-protected link Matik creates a different password for each email and includes it in that email's link, so the recipient opens their Page without typing anything. Forwarding the link forwards access.
My organization The recipient must log into Matik in your organization. Use this for internal sends.

In the code editor, insert a template link with the editor's autocomplete, which produces a tag like <template templateid="1234">View your report</template>. Links added in the code editor always use Anyone with the link.

Attaching a Page as a PDF

If a recipient's organization will not open external links, use Add Email Attachment and choose the Page template. The Page is generated for the recipient and attached as a PDF. The PDF is static: calculators, filters, and Generate buttons do not work in it.

Page links and PDF attachments work the same way in bulk sends, scheduled sends, and Flows. See Creating Matik Mail Templates and Generating Emails with Matik Mail.

Best practices

  • Return full tables from Dynamic Content. One Dynamic Content with every opportunity, ticket, or usage row gives the Page more to work with than one that returns a single pre-computed total. Let the Page do the grouping and filtering.
  • Preview with sample data before you share. Check conditional sections with inputs that trigger them, and check chart scales with a large account and a small one.
  • Match the share setting to the data. Use Password-protected link or My organization for customer-specific or financial data. Use Anyone with the link for content you would be comfortable having forwarded.

Limitations

  • No file download. A Page is viewed in the browser or exported as a PDF. Bulk download of generated content skips Pages.
  • Not available in Triggered Workflows. Use Matik Mail or scheduled generation to automate Page delivery.
  • Share links use the share.matik.io domain. Custom domains are not yet supported.
