End users in Matik have the ability to add slides from a slide library and deselect slides from a template and not include them in a deck. A sub-template is a saved version of this modified template that can be used to regenerate the same modified template with different inputs in the future. For example, let’s say I always deselect agenda slides in my presentations and add in a specific set of case study slides from a slide library to my QBR deck. Saving these slides as a sub-template allows me to create my own version of this template for use with future customers.
Sub-templates are an enterprise-level setting. Contact your Matik Administrator if you do not have the ability to use sub-templates.
To get started, navigate to a template you want to make into a sub-template. Deselect any slides you want to omit from your subtemplate and add any additional slides from a slide library. (Hint: Hover your pointer between slides and click the + icon to add slides).
Next, click the “Save as sub-template” button. Give your subtemplate a name and save it. The sub-template will now appear with your other templates.
Simply click on the sub-template to generate a deck.
Note that changes to the original template or slide libraries might impact your subtemplate. Slides added to the original template will not be added to a sub-template. If a slide is altered or deleted in the original template or in an added library slide, these changes will be reflected within your sub-template.
By default, sub-templates are shared with all admin users. To add end users or change current settings, click on the sharing icon.
